About the Consortium

The Curtisville Consortium was founded in 1970 and this year celebrates it's 41st anniversary!  The ensemble was founded by Boston Symphony members and family and has continued over the years to include such musicians in its membership.   The original and continuing intent is to provide audiences with an opportunity to hear chamber music - up close and personal.  The series began its performances in the Inn, High Point, located in the Audubon Santuary in Lenox.  Later the group moved to the Curtisville/Interlaken section of Stockbridge for many years.  Today the ensemble enjoys the gracious ambiance of Trinity Church in Lenox.

Our Special Backbone

Musically our players carry the ball.  However, without the unending and dedicated assistance of our small but vital board we would not be able to continue this venture.  Our hearts and appreciation go out to Clyde Wade, John Burbank and Ouisa Fohrhaltz for their substantial and continuous commitment to us!

What the press has said over the years . . . .

Over the years the Berkshire Eagle critics have paid us a visit and here are just a few of the notable quotes . .
"Quintessential summer"

"one of the Berkshire's best kept secrets"

"qualifications and musicianship are a foregone conclusion; programs are stimulating and the setting affords the audience close observation"

"the players caught a positive spirit of joy, leaving the listener emotionally satisfed"

Please join us this summer!

You won't be disappointed!
